Every design we make starts with curiosity |
When something puzzles us in daily life, we dig in: what is really going on here, and could design offer a natural solution?
We unravel complex problems, work with verified scientific sources, and make what we learn tangible and relevant for the everyday. Some of it becomes a product. Much of it is simply too useful to keep to ourselves, so we share it here. |
Cibus Domus the food of our homeIn our everyday live, we really try to be conscious about food, yet something still ends up in the bin every now and then.
In our goal to do better, we started digging: into the biology of ripening and decay, the ideal storage conditions for each fruit and vegetable, historical preservation techniques from around the world, and their nutrients and footprint. Every entry is built on open-source scientific studies. Growing into 200 species, each with its own page: where it comes from, when it's in season, what it contains, how long it keeps, and the best way to store it.
From apple and banana to samphire, medlar and wolffia, with new species being added every week. |

We went through the NOVA classification, the research linking UPFs to health risks, and the additives worth keeping an eye on. Plus what "avoiding them" actually looks like on an ordinary Tuesday. |

Research for others |
The files on this page are our own. But we do the same work on commission, for companies, governments and educational institutions.
A question you keep running into, a material stream you don't know what to do with, or a theme you want to make tangible for a wider audience. We dig into it, verify what we find, and hand you something you can act on. |
