WATERWORKS is a natural watering system that makes caring for your houseplants incredibly easy.
A set consists of a partly glazed terra-cotta cone aand a glass reservoir in a cardboard giftbox.
The terra-cotta cone transmits the moisture level of its porous walls to the soil surrounding it, creating a continuous gradual water distribution.
This process is partly managed by the plant: broad-leaved kinds extracting more moisture from the soil, will naturally speed up the flow through the terra-cotta.
The terra-cotta cones come glazed to three different heights: Medium, most commonly used and suited for most houseplants; Large, with a larger porous surface and faster distribution of moisture; and Small, with only a small porous part and slower water flow.
The terra-cotta Waterworks cones are available to be sold separately and can be used to repurpose used beer- and wine bottles into a fun personal collection of watering devices.
2020: Something has changed...
Up until February 2020 Waterworks came with a cork stopper.
We added it to make cleaning the reservoir a little bit easier, but because it wasn't always clear the reservoir needs to be filled through its neck, we decided it would be better for the function and clarity of the system to get rid of the hole in the reservoir.
The cone: hack away
The main component of Waterworks is the partly porous terra-cotta cone.
In this new version we made it easier to hack: with a slightly wider neck, the cone can fit a variety of bottles, so you can re-use your loveliest bottles as a watering device for your houseplants.
